Welcome!
Welcome. I’m delighted you are here in the Dan Thorpe Acoustic Academy (“DTAA” for short). In the past, you’ve probably felt overwhelmed by the world of guitar tuition and that’s why the DTAA contains what I believe is all you need to succeed on the guitar – a clear plan for success, the best songs, technique tutorials, fun stuff, support, and more.
To get you started on the right foot, please watch the three short videos below which show you how it all works. Let’s begin this exciting journey!
The Dan Thorpe Acoustic Academy in a Nutshell!
How to Navigate the Dan Thorpe Acoustic Academy
Okay, let’s take a moment to cover some essentials of using the membership and navigating your way around. This includes key things such as slowing down the videos, turning on captions, increasing the volume, leaving comments, checking the Leaderboard, and more…
The “5 Star Award
Having a long term plan is crucial. The ‘5-Star’ Award gives you this exact plan helping you to have clear goals and be a fully rounded guitarist.
The “5G” Accelerator Method
The “5G” Accelerator Method is my unique method that makes learning guitar easier, smoother, and more enjoyable. Watch this essential video to find out what the “5Gs” of guitar playing are and exactly how we will improve them throughout the whole of the academy and how this will make your guitar journey more fun!
The ‘5G Accelerators’ can be found throughout the academy such as in the In Focus course, monthly lessons, and various pages. To access all the main areas of the academy and find lessons on these, go to the ‘Start Here’ page.
Here are the 5Gs of guitar playing:
- Repertoire of Songs
- Technique
- Musicality
- Motivation
- Planning
Quick tip – Introduce yourself HERE. Please leave a quick introduction and then come back and watch the next video. Try to interact with the comments section on each page (the other members and I read and reply to each comment). Comments are the lifeblood of the DTAA community and members who leave comments tend to get the best out of the DTAA and their playing.
If you’re new here or want more clarity, go to the page for a clear plan on how to use the academy for best results!
