The 30-Day Fretting And Picking Hand Dexterity Builders

The PICKING Hand

Many fingerpickers struggle with their picking hand fingers and most really struggle when they need to pluck the same string multiple times (which happens a lot in fingerstyle). Here, you will improve the dexterity of your picking hand… using the most popular melody of all time.

Part 1 – The Melody

In this lesson, learn how to add more fluency and dexterity to your picking hand, using a simple method I learnt from a bass playing friend of mine.

Part 2 – The Technique

Here are the different picking hand fingerings to use as mentioned and taught in the video:

  • Index only
  • Middle only
  • Middle & Index (start with the index if you prefer)
  • Index & Ring
  • Middle & Ring
  • Thumb & Index

There are more combinations. Experiment and try them all. Each one is beneficial and will help give you more control and dexterity with your picking hand. Enjoy!
