The Ultimate Guide To Barre Chords!

How To Use This Course

As with any course, there are different ways in which you can use it, and these usually depend on the skill level of the guitarist.

Beginners To Barre Chords

If you are new to barre chords, then I recommend you go through the course in order, applying the lessons as taught.

Aim to spend 10-20 minutes per day each day practising the technical exercises and the barre chord shapes.

Intermediate Barre Chord Players

If you already know the four main shapes, but can`t play them well, spend more time improving your technique by going through section 1 and section 2 for 15-20 minutes each day.

Don`t try to master all of the technical exercises in one go but keep coming back to them over the next few months to improve them. Your barre chord playing and your all-round guitar playing will improve massively by doing so.

Advanced Barre Chord Players

You are an advanced barre chord player if you can comfortably play the four shapes and understand the barre chord formula (what the true chord is).

In this case, I still recommend you spend time on section 1 and 2 (to improve technique) but you can focus on the more advanced parts of the course which are from section 4 onwards. Make it your mission to learn the “Barre Chord Song”.

Final Aims

Your aim with this course is to move to the next level (i.e. go from “Beginner to Barre Chords” to becoming an “Intermediate Barre Chord Player” and so on) until you can comfortably play, understand and use each section of the course and be very good at playing the technical exercises.

Your overall aim is to be able to play the “Barre Chord Song” to a high standard and have a complete understanding of the whole course.

Good luck and don`t rush this awesome journey of learning barre chords!
